Our Story

What’s with the name?” is a question I am frequently asked. I know, “Flaming Toaster” is not a very traditional name for a construction business, but we figured you’d remember it! The name itself is a reference to a comically disastrous attempt to mend a broken toaster, and the recognition that, sometimes, it’s best to call a professional. :)

Growing up in a very DIY family in the 80s and later working in construction, I have been doing home improvement projects and repairs for a long time. During and after college, I worked in multiple different trades (e.g., construction, carpentry, electrician apprentice, handyman) learning a wide range of skills and deepening my knowledge of construction and home repair and improvement. I have long prided myself on doing the maintenance and repairs around my own home and vehicle, and somewhere along the way realized that I could turn those skills and the work I enjoy into a business! 

Flaming Toaster Construction & Handyman Services was born out of the knowledge that sometimes we all need a little help (like the unnamed toaster repair-person mentioned above!…. Ok… it’s my father-in-law…. ;)).
